Sebastian Ebert and Daniel Wiesen are awarded with the NRW Young Scientist Award in the field of Economics and Management. They received the prize for their paper "Testing for Prudence and Skewness Seeking", which was published in Management Science, on November 28.

Prof. Dr. Armin Falk receives the Price of the Berlin-Brandenburgischen Akademie der Wissenschaften. The award is donated by the Commerzbank foundation and is worth 30.000 €.

Prof. Dr. Benny Moldovanu and Prof. Dr. Alex Gershkov receive the first "Best Paper Prize" of the American Economic Journal : Microeconomics for their paper "Dynamic Revenue Maximization with Heterogenous Objects: A Mechanism Design Approach".

The proposal for a new research training group (Graduiertenkolleg) at the department of economics was approved by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Starting in April 2011, the DFG will fund activities of the research training group with the title Heterogeneity, Risk, and Dynamics in Economic Systems. Sprecher is Prof. Dr. Juergen von Hagen.
