BGSE Ph.D. Candidate awarded with Econ Job Market Best Paper Award

We congratulate our Ph.D. Candidate Si Chen for winning the Econ Job Market Best Paper Award granted by the European Economic Association and the UniCredit Foundation.

Her job market paper “Motivated Information Acquisition in Social Decisions (joint with Carl Heese)” studies how people collect information for decisions where their selfish motives might clash with their social motives.

Si is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Bonn Graduate School of Economics and a Research Fellow of the Institute for Applied Microeconomics at the University of Bonn. Her main research interests are in Behavioral Economics and Applied Microeconomics. She uses experiments, theoretical models, and interdisciplinary methods to study motivated beliefs and preferences.

Si will be receiving the award at the European Job Market for Economists in Rotterdam on Wednesday, December 18th.
Congratulations!
