Cabinet again nominates Isabel Schnabel as a member of the German Council of Economic Experts

On 22 December 2016, the Federal Cabinet proposed to the German President, Joachim Gauck, the re-election of Professor Isabel Schnabel for a second term as a member of the German Council of Economic Experts.


Sigmar Gabriel, Federal Minister of Economics and Energy, says: "She is a recognized voice in the economic policy debate. I am convinced that Professor Schnabel will continue to complement the expertise of the Council of Experts, and I look forward to continuing our cooperation."


Isabel Schnabel has been a member of the German Council of Economic Experts since 2004. The coming term of office begins in March 2017 and ends in February 2022. Since the end of 2015, Professor Schnabel is a member of the Department of Economics at the Institute for Financial Market Economy and Statistics.
