Call for Applications: CRC TR 224 Summer School on the Econometrics of Peer Effects and Social Interactions Annweiler, Germany, July 15-19, 2019

The Collaborative Research Center TR 224 invites applications for a Summer School on the Econometrics of Peer Effects and Social Interactions by Ph.D. students and recent post-docs, to be held in Annweiler from Monday July 15 to Friday, July 19.

The purpose of the school is to introduce Ph.D. students as well as recent post-docs in economics to cutting-edge methods to empirically analyze peer effects and social interactions/social networks. The Summer School will be held by two leading economists in the field, Bryan Graham (UC Berkeley) and Aureo de Paula (University College London). Each day, there will be a long morning lecture session. The afternoons will offer opportunities for students to discuss their ideas and research with faculty and fellow students. The summer school will take place in Kurhaus Trifels (http://www.kurhaus-trifels.de) in Annweiler, a nice wine-growing area between Heidelberg and Strasbourg with castles and hiking trails, about two hours by train from Frankfurt airport.
 
The co-organizers of the summer school are Katja Maria Kaufmann (U Mannheim), Antonio Ciccone (U Mannheim), Hans-Martin von Gaudecker (U Bonn).The maximum number of participants is limited to 25. There is a participation fee of € 300 for admitted students to be paid within two weeks of notification. Economy class airfares and lodging including breakfast and meals in the program will be covered for participants according to the DFG reimbursement guidelines (conditional on attending the whole Summer School).
